Ministry Accounting Associate
 
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Accounting Associate will assist in the daily operations of the Ministry Accounting Services. This includes certain clerical duties as assigned.

 

REPORTING

The Accounting Associate reports to the Lead Accountant, Ministry Accounting Services and to the Vice President, Ministry Accounting Services.

BROAD JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process accounting functions of Ministry Accounting Services; e.g. accounts payable, payroll, offering contributions by donor and/or by purpose, bank reconciliations, month end reviews, and financial workpapers and/or reports
  • Follow set standard operating procedures for all accounting services processing
  • Document correspondence and scan mailings in appropriate WatersEdge software
  • Engage the Vice President, Ministry Accounting Services regarding the progress, challenges, and success of the Program

 

JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Initially, this is a part time, non-exempt position. Based on the needs of the Program, the classification may become a full time, exempt position based on agreement of the Supervisor and Employee.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
  • This position generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
  • Travel and operation of a vehicle may be required.

Staff Accountant
 
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Staff Accountant provides support in the areas of trust and operating accounting and financial reporting.

 

REPORTING

The Staff Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

BROAD JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform daily accounting tasks:
    • Post cash receipts
    • Reconcile Trust bank account
    • Print checks and send Electronic Funds Transfers
  • Conduct month-end closing tasks:
    • Post investment activity and reconcile traditional custodied manager accounts
    • Update valuations for alternative investments per partner statements
    • Reconcile and value each investment product
    • Calculate and process monthly investment management fees
    • Reconcile bank and investment account statements held by individual trusts
    • Reconcile house accounts, prepaid assets, and other operating accounts
  • Prepare financial reports and financial analysis
  • Generate and post recurring transactions for operating and trust activities
  • Prepare 1099-R and 1099-NEC forms
  • Assist auditors, including running reports and reconciling accounts
  • Prepare minutes of the Audit Committee
